Avatar 2 Stars Zoe Saldana-Sam Worthington Aka Neytiri-Jake Sully To Visit India? Says ‘We Would Jump On Banshee And Come’
Avatar has a massive fan following in India and fans are eagerly waiting for the next instalment in its franchise, which is all set to hit the theatres on December 16, 2022. The sequel Avatar: The Way of Water is touted to be one of the most awaited films in 2022 and this James Cameron directorial stars Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington reprising their roles as Neytiri and Jake Sully.

Now, ahead of the release, the actor duo got candid about the mystical world of Pandora and their connection with the fans in India. Zoe and Sam even revealed they plan to visit the Indian subcontinent. Zoe also mentioned the deep family connection she resonated with during the filming of the Avatar sequel.

Sam, in his interaction with India Today, was enquired if he was aware of the huge popularity of Avatar in India, Sam mentioned, “Yeah, absolutely. I think the one great thing for us was to see how the first movie connected. I think it shocked us all and still shocks us. But we're extremely humbled by the fact that so many in India loved the film and, hopefully, will love the sequel too."

When asked if they would love to visit India anytime soon, given their popularity, Sam and Zoe chimed in on the idea and promptly replied, “That would be awesome. We'd love to! We'll just jump on her Banshee and come(to India).”

Zoe and Sam were also asked if shooting for the movie and exploring the family connection aspect in it affected their personal equation with family members.

Replying to the same, Zoe shared, “For sure! If anything, I took inspiration from my life to sort of incorporate it into Neytiri. And I made sure that whatever it was that Neytiri was battling, that felt a little too heavy, and that wasn't aligned with what I was doing, I made sure that I left it at work. With experience, you learn not to bring your workload to the house, and vice versa, as you want both environments to remain pure, so that you can always be a little more focused and give like 120% to the characters.”

Zoe also revealed that she had a conversation with James Cameron and Sam to ensure that they could leave the intensity of their characters at work.

The film is expected to witness a rave response from the fans. Owing to the trends of advance booking in India, the film has already observed a record-breaking Rs. 10 crore advance booking in the first few days of the announcement.
